What is the follow-up?

Health Records

With your permission, a member of your local research team will look at your maternity health records or GP records to record the date that you give birth. They will also look at whether you experienced any problems during your pregnancy, such as an infection or pre-eclampsia, along with general information about your health during your pregnancy.

We would also like to review your child’s medical records to record how many weeks pregnant you were at the time of their birth, their birthweight, whether they were admitted to a neonatal unit, and information about their general health in the 30 days following birth. You will not be asked to do anything during this stage. Your child’s NHS/CHI number will also be collected.

Child Development Questionnaire

For those who join the study during the first 18 months, we may contact you to complete a questionnaire about your child’s development once they are two years old. This can be sent to you by post, email or can be completed over the telephone with a researcher, depending on your preference. We anticipate the questionnaire will take around 15 minutes to complete.
