Who funded the study and who is the lead organisation for the study?

This study is funded by the National Institute for Health & Care Research (ref: NIHR152798).

The study is designed and led by a team of experienced clinicians with expertise in preventing early birth and researchers, who are being supported by members of the public with lived experience of early birth.

University Hospitals Bristol and Weston NHS Foundation Trust is the Sponsor for the PIONEER study.

Other collaborating partners on this study include: University of Bristol; Imperial College London; Kings College London; University of Sheffield; University of Leeds; University of Birmingham; University of Oxford and University of Edinburgh.

These organisations are being supported by the Bristol Trials Centre at the University of Bristol, who is responsible for coordinating all study activities.
